Day 21: Pretty Pattern

It's hard to tell from the picture because I'm no photographer but this is the fabric we purchased to recover the chair and ottoman in our den.  We've been wanting to do this since we moved in (2 1/2 years ago...) and I finally found this pattern that I loved so we ordered it.   The pattern has crimson, gold, and sage green at the points of all the diamonds matching our den perfectly.  I should also mention that it was on sale making it even better!  The recovering should be finished in the next couple of weeks, yay!

Day 20: What I Read

The book I've been reading most of the summer and am almost finished with, it's only been a few pages a night before bed.  If I didn't fall asleep as soon as sat down in bed every night I might have finished sooner.  It's interesting, I fall asleep quickly and then am up the rest of the night.  Great book, recommended from a friend :)  Hopefully, will be returning it to her soon!

Day 19: Where I Slept

This is my getaway for the one night when I choose to take a Benadryl and get a good nights sleep.  Ever since I found out about little Miss Anna Katherine (that's what we've decided to name her) I have had horrible insomnia - I can't sleep!  Most people that have grown up with me or lived in the same house know that sleep is a must so this has been a huge problem.  About once a month I take a Benadryl and get lots of pillows and spend the night in our guest bedroom.  Tommy is totally for it because this has impaired his sleeping, as well.    After a really bad day at work last week, I took my Benadryl and slept the night away until 5 AM!  It was just wonderful :)

Day 18: In My Bag

I left all the pieces of paper, gum wrappers and receipts out of the picture.  You can imagine, we all have them!  Fortunately, this purse won't hold quite as much as my last one so it stays much cleaner and organized.

Day 17: On the Shelf

We went to Monroeville this weekend so I got a little behind on my blogging.  I'm back and here are my pics to catch up!

This is a collection of a few of our frames from trips that we take.  Each time we visit a new city on vacation we buy a picture frame and put a photo of us in it from that place.  The first one we bought was in Cozumel, the frame on the far right.  It's probably the prettiest one we have!

Day 16: What I Ate

It looks like I copied this from the website, right??  Just pretend like it does...
Well, I didn't - I took it!  Ha, impressed myself lol j/k.  This was my evening snack tonight, yum!  Nobody is allowed to speak on the healthiness or lack there of, I had tons of fruit today (remember my watermelon post?).  I would have taken a picture of the actual bowl of cereal but I might have forgotten before it was all gone.

Day 15: My Shoes

Aasic Gel tennis shoes are like walking on clouds, for real.  These have been my shoe of choice for work for about 4 or 5 years now.  I always thought that New Balance (the popular all grey ones) had to be the best but I think that was mostly because I wanted to wear the "in" shoe.  It actually could be the most uncomfortable shoe I've worn for being on my feet all day at work.  Who knew?  I was wishing I had not wasted all that time (and expense bc they cost way more than Aasics) in crap shoes!  I look forward to my trips to Shoe Station in Mobile because they have the biggest Aasic selection and always a 20% off... meaning two pair for me! :)

Day 14: Flowers

Crepe Myrtle blooms.  I think they are so pretty but we have a special relationship.... I love to hate these dang flowers.  They have a horrible tendency to blow straight into the garage and then promptly get tracked right up the stairs from the basement to the kitchen, argh!  Hence, love hate relationship.  These beautiful blooms show up all in the carpet on the stairs and ground into my kitchen tile, it's a good sign that I can still call them beautiful.

Day 13: From A Distance

The quality isn't so hot because I was "from a distance".  Also, I promise Cooper isn't using the bathroom.  He is actually in full bark mode because I scared him taking the picture from around the corner of the fence.  I have to be sneaky or they'll come running and then it would be very close up!

They were helping Tommy mow the grass, wasn't that sweet?!?

Day 12: Close Up

Watermelon!
My favorite summertime fruit, might be the last one of the season.

Day 11: Something Fun

Music of any kind

I love music, whether I'm playing, singing or listening to it.  Now, if I'm singing nobody else is listening :).  I really wish that I still had my flute to play, the music is all in the piano bench but I don't have the instrument anymore.  My favorite kind of pieces to play are ones that sound really grand, like patriotic music gives me chills everytime and are so fun to play.  I also like big, strong voices....  Celene Dion, Whitney Houston, lots more.  Then when it comes to the guitar (only Tommy plays) I like to hear calm, relaxing music like Eric Clapton, Damien Rice (not sure many people know who he is but I love him), Coldplay etc.  I go from one end of the spectrum to the other, that's what makes music so fun.  There's music for any and every mood, it's rare I sit in silence in a moving vehicle.

Day 10: Something I Made

My first Sips n Strokes painting.

Day 9: Faceless Self Portrait

This picture says so much about me... I could sit by the water on the beach anyday, anytime.  It is one of my favorite places.   I love everything about the beach - the clear water, the salty air, the waves, the sea life and even the heat (refer to my previous post about being cold 24/7) I'm actually kind of lazy (eek) and so just lounging all day is no problem for me.  Having my toes done before any beach trip is a must because it kicks off the week of relaxation in a great massage chair. Ahh... one day I'll just be a beach bum in Key West!

Day 8: Technology

If you know me at all, you must know that I am cold natured.  Not just a little bit cold, like wear sweatshirts inside in the summer time cold.  As a kid, I would run out to the car for a couple of minutes to "warm up" and then run back inside (seriously, ask mom).  I love summer and really dislike everything about winter unless snow is involved.  There is a jacket of some sort and a blanket in all of our vehicles.  This picture is of the best invention of all times.... heated seats.  Oh wait, there's more - that beautiful little button in the middle, have you figured it out yet??  It's a heated steering wheel!  Amazing, I had never heard of such until we purchased our last car and it makes me oh so happy.  I probably would have bought the car with no other feature than the heated seats and steering wheel.  Ah... isn't technology wonderful :)

Day 7: Something New

Gifts to our little girl from Rachael!  She is the first to buy us some girl stuff.  Aren't they cute?!?  As her husband said, "She didn't give anyone else a chance".  She picked up these items on her way home from work as soon as I texted her :)  Thanks, Rach!

Day 6: Childhood Memory

When I was in middle school I became a bit obsessed with candles.  I had TONS of candles.  This one night I was burning a few on my nightstand while watching TV in my black light sensitive blow up chair (I so wish I had a picture of this awesome chair, maybe I'll google to see if I can find one).  It's also possible I was painting my toes neon lime green, I still have the polish if anyone needs to borrow it.  I look over during a commercial (the candles probably had been burning 30 minutes or so) and I had this huge melted area in the middle of my lamp shade.  Thankfully, I did not burn down the house but as you can see I still love candles.  All 3 of these came from the same room and the one on the left I made at a little shop in Helena.  There were 6 other candles in this room but they were decorative and not actually ones that I burn so they didn't make the day 6 photo cut.

I'm going to edit this post because I found a picture of the blow up chair, woohoo!

I also had this chair in lime green for friends when they came over but it was not nearly as wonderful as Princess Michele's throne :)

Well, this post got way off subject but I sure did enjoy remembering the good times of middle school.

Day 5: Someone I Love (and miss terribly)

My Brother, Stephen.

He didn't actually play baseball, he played golf but just had the shirt.  Most of his clothes were not his because he lost pretty much everything article of clothing in record time.  Then he would just borrow from somebody else and it always swallowed him whole.  Shoes... who needs shoes?  Those were purposefully lost to drive my mom crazy because he despised wearing shoes and was barefoot all summer long (fortunately he was a lifeguard so it was easy to get away with)

This one pretty much sums up his personality... getting catapulted off the blob at Blue Lake

Loving some Alabama football in the student section with me, I think he was about 16 in this picture.

Day 4: Favorite Color

Alright, I'm a day late and I cheated a bit... This is a picture of my flowers from our wedding but I loved the colors of my wedding.  My favorite color is coral, like a pinky coral not orangy coral.  This is really hard to find because almost all corals take on an orange look.  I think the flower at the top of the picture with the yellow tip is just perfect :) I wish I could have made it bigger after I cropped the picture but it was blurry.  I'll be sure to get my Day 5 up before today is over!

Anchors Away...

I loved this song when I was little.  I think because my dad was in the Navy and he would sing it to me.  I still love to hear it and they played it the first night we were on our cruise for the "Welcome Aboard" show.  Here are some of our favorite pictures from the trip.

St Thomas

Barbados

St Lucia

St Kitts

St Maarten

Day 2:  What I Wore

What I wore today and everyday.

30 Day Challenge

My friend Mollie sent me this link for a 30 day challenge.  I thought it looked fun and maybe not too time consuming.  Here's the link for all the specific days.

http://wildolive.blogspot.com/2011/08/30-days-30-photos.html

I'm going to attempt to really post one picture a day so when you see all this you will know what it's about.  Let me know if anyone else out there wants to try because I would love to see your pics!

Day 1: Self Portrait

Tired and ready for bed!  I feel this way alot lately.

This and That

Here are our new (well, a couple months old now) appliances that I love!  They all are sooo much better than what we had and they look pretty too :)

This is a block of the countertops that we want to install against the backsplash we already have.  After this project our kitchen renovation will be complete.

On a totally different note, these are pics from the awesome Martina McBride concert that Tommy and I took my parents too.  Mom and Tommy (both reluctant to go since Dad and I are the country fans) both really enjoyed the concert.  She always has such a strong beautiful voice and she pushed through with the humidity.  It was sooo humid that night because it had rained ALL day (literally all but the two hours she played in the amphitheater) and after "Broken Wing" she was said "Shew, I didn't think I would ever catch a breath!  I've never been in such humidity".  Welcome to South Alabama! lol

I realized just tonight while talking to my MIL why I have been such a slacker with posting.  Here's my excuse, I always blogged last spring or tried to be crafty/creative while Tommy was in class on Mon and Tues nights.... well, he hasn't had class since May so I haven't been taking much me time.  Classes start back next Tuesday so we will hopefully be back on track for the blogging world (maybe... no promises!)
